This week marks the sixth anniversary of March Communications and to celebrate, we’re hosting a TweetUp at Clink in Boston’s Liberty Hotel.

Twitter has become a useful tool to help promote news, especially through the use of hashtags. In my recent post on Twitter Trends (Twends), a majority of trending topics arise from mainstream media and pop culture. People are constantly on the go and have access to Twitter on their iPhone, Droid or BlackBerry.

We’re utilizing Twitter to promote this event through the trending topic, #MarchTweetUp. Back in November, the March team hosted a TweetUp in San Francisco and we’re excited to bring a similar event to our favorite city, Boston.

When the agency was formed six years ago, tweeting didn’t exist in mainstream. It constantly amazes me how quickly social media has become an integral part of our lives.

If you’re in the Boston area, come mingle with likeminded communications, media and technology professionals. The event starts at 6 pm and we encourage attendees to use #MarchTweetUp in nightly Twitter updates.

We hope to see you there.
