Foursquare, the location-based social network, just got more social.

I read on Mashable today that Foursquare recently added a photos and comments section to its application, due to popular demand.  This is a great upgrade as it will allow users to upload photos, complimenting their “shouts” and “tips.”

If someone “shouts” that Moxie on Charles Street is having a sale on Tory Burch shoes, I’d love to see a photo on Foursquare featuring the styles and colors in stock.

Not familiar with Foursquare but want to learn more?  Meredith gives a great overview of the application in a blog post over the summer.

Note that these upgrades are only available to iPhone users right now, but they will be available to Android users later this week and BlackBerry users in January 2011.

Cheers to Foursquare for becoming a well-rounded social application.
