Inspirational Leaders
As you may recall from one of my previous posts, my brother David and his fiance Maggie are Peace Corps volunteers in Burkina Faso, a small country in Africa. This past Wednesday, they returned to Africa from a three week stint in America. I was so excited to see them, and of course, get some awesome gifts! (Homemade Shea Butter and a bracelet to name a few)
It’s absolutely amazing and inspiring to hear about their experiences and the little things we take for granted in America, like running water and copious amounts of food. I also learned that the people of Burkina love the music of Akon and Phil Collins. (Surprisingly, not Toto, like I thought…)
In Maggie’s recent blog post, she talks about some random musings from their visit back home, like her experience at the Allston Post Office:
“The USPS is really stepping up their marketing game, a fact I noticed today when I went to the Allston post office to mail a small package. The woman helping me gave me 76 different options for shipment (priority mail? delivery confirmation? insurance?) all of which I declined.”
Their blog is updated often, so check it out periodically to learn more about the African culture, view photos and random tidbits. David & Maggie toured a bunch of MBA schools across the country during their visit, and I’m confident they’ll be accepted to each and every one! Stay tuned for updates on their blog.
