Willkommen in Berlin!

Last week, Martin Jones and I traveled to Berlin for the 12th Annual Comptel User Group.  This was my first time visiting the German capital and attending a CUG event.  Highlights included:

  • Hearing the opinions of leading thinkers across the OSS industry.  Keynote presenters, Ari Banerjee of Yankee Group and Ralf Jaeger of Cisco Systems GmbH, discussed the key trends, challenges and opportunities affecting the telecom market.
  • Taking a bus ride by Brandenburg Gate on the way to 20s-themed Restaurant Nolle.  I also had a chance to see the Reichstag and stop into famous department store, KaDeWe.

  • Learning about the experiences of service providers from across the world.  The CUG featured presentations, demos and several interactive voting sessions.
  • Touring the vintage car collection at Meilenwerk.  We saw an interesting musical program like Stomp but with the use of the cars.

Look forward to hearing about the plans of next year’s client user conference.  Auf wiedersehen or näkemiin!
