Fenway- Your Way, Every Day
Attention sports fans! May you never have to leave your couch again…
Comcast will soon be rolling out Red Sox On Demand, providing countless hours of Red Sox entertainment to Boston fans who subscribe to Comcast digital cable.
Johnny Diaz of the Boston Globe reports, “the service will enable cable viewers to watch games and behind-the-scene team footage, including highlights of Sox legends Ted Williams and Jim Rice, footage from the trophy tour for the 2004 World Series victory or Kevin Youkilis hosting a batting clinic.”
Steve Hackley, senior VP of Comcast in greater Boston adds, “This is better than a channel. It’s a library at your disposal anytime you want.”
Comcast, being the largest cable operator in the country, added this special service in attempt to attract new customers while retaining existing subscribers. As people try to cut costs from every angle, Red Sox On Demand might be a nice alternative to a day at Fenway. Comcast also has similar deals with other professional sports teams in the nation, including the Penguins, Braves and San Francisco Giants.
Could this be a wicked cool addition to Comcast digital TV? I hope so.
